The Study

In the study, effect sizes with 95% confidence intervals were calculated, and heterogeneity was evaluated using a random-effects model. Researchers examined studies from PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Bireme/MedLine, and SciELO online databases, looking for articles which contain benefits of CrossFit.

This included studies with factors from short-term intervention studies, with participants, split into different gender groups to maintain consistency.

Male participants (60%) were used more in comparison to females (40%). CrossFit samples were composed of teenagers, adults and the elderly. The sample profile included 6 per cent aggressive CrossFit pro athletes, 63% coached individuals who engaged in CrossFit for more than six weeks, 22% physically active individuals, and 9% more sedentary people.
